Seldom do you see a movie that is riveting with action, plot and effects that also can sustain itself with the over-the-top acting that the little kids love. Transformers is 75% Terminator, 20% Spy-Kids and 5% Lizzie McGuire. It really has something for everyone. A boy gets a cool first car (or better yet it gets him), the girl of his dreams and is the key to stopping a plot to destroy the universe. The effects are vivid, almost making you believe that those big robots were real. The marines were ever present heroes, ruff and tuff, always willing to step up to the challenge. There are lots of military combat scenes, including explosive shots with fighter aircraft and Apache helicopters.
