Bourne in the USA

Jason Bourne, the international super assassin gone wrong, is back in the United States. Starting with intense action and chase sequences through the streets of Russia, Bourne is still on the run from the agency that trained him. After loosing his memory (in the first movie) and running from the agency that created him, all he wanted to do was hide and be left alone. But that all changed when they killed his girlfriend (second movie) while hiding in India. After exacting revenge and exposing a government traitor, Bourne sets out to figure out who he is and make amends for the sins of his past. He just wants to be left alone and right some of his personal wrongs.

It doesn’t take long for the agency to get hot on his trail and mistakenly put more clues in front of him as they attempt to silence their creation. The clues take him across Europe, dodging bullets and other highly trained assigns, until he finally arrives in the US to put the final puzzle pieces together.

Having never been a big fan of sequels, my skepticism going in was high. The intrigue of the first movie was done so well, I was sure that by the third movie, there would be nothing left but action scenes and predictable plotless dialogue. But the movie was surprisingly good. The opening action left me asking what is going on and created questions that had to unfold over the course of the movie.

Not as good as the first (Bourne Identity) and better than the second (Bourne Supremacy), the Bourne Ultimatum is a solid movie that grabs you from the start and leaves you satisfied at the end.
