What Do the CD and the 8-Track Have In Common

The Blaupunkt Melbourne SD27 has taken a grand leap by sending the CD the way of the 8-Track, to the garbage dump. The mainstream is shifting when a leading car stereo manufacturer is abondoning disc playing in favor of SD cards and audio jacks. Besides the fact that it probably boosts the units reliability and lowers cost, it is a tribute to the pervasive nature of the MP3 player and compact audio file.

So what is missing? I still want to know why I can't access my car stero over my wireless home network and manage my music with iTunes. Why should I have to plug my iPod into my stereo?
